Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Punta Arenas

Transfer to your hotel
City tour, in which we will visit the main places of interest in this southern city: Museums, lookouts and the city’s historical cemetery.
Afternoon free
Accommodation: Punta Arenas, dinner not included.

Day 2: Punta Arenas – San Isidro Lighthouse (B, L, D)

8:00am: Pick up from the hotel, transport to the Cape of San Isidro.
We sail across the Strait of Magellan (the strait that separates the mainland from the mythical Tierra del Fuego island), where we may possibly see southern dolphins.

Arrival at Lodge Faro San Isidro.  Coffee and a trip to “representación Kaweskar”, Eagle Bay (where the whaling company society operated between 1905-1907), San Isidro Lighthouse and its surroundings.

Lunch at the lodge.

In the afternoon, safety talk and practical lesson in kayaking techniques. Short kayak trip to Eagle Bay or Nassau Islet (maximum duration 4 hours), observing the coastal fauna.

Dinner and accommodation: Lodge Faro San Isidro (double bedrooms with ensuite bathroom).

Day 3: Cape San Isidro – Francisco Coloane Marine Park, Carlos III Island (B, L, D)

7:00 am: Breakfast.

We sail along the Strait of Magellan, for 8 hours at a speed of 8 – 10 knots, in the boat Y/M Esturión II that has a capacity of 10 passengers and 3 crewmembers.

Breakfast and (box) lunch on board.

Arrival at Carlos III Island campground.

Tour around the campground and whale observatory.

Talks: Description of the campground, Francisco Coloane Marine Park and the marine life.

Short excursion in the afternoon.

Dinner and accommodation: Ecolodge – Isla Carlos III, (double bedrooms with shared bathrooms).

Day 4: Francisco Coloane Marine Park – Whale Sound (B, L, D)

Breakfast.

Kayaking to Rupert Islet, viewing of marine life, Magellanic penguins and seals.

Return to the campground for lunch.

We sail across Whale Sound to Santa Inés Glacier and back.

Dinner and accommodation: Ecolodge Isla Carlos III

Day 5: Francisco Coloane Marine Park – Punta Arenas (B, L, D)

Breakfast.

Kayaking trip (depending on climatic conditions and itinerary).

Departure from campground.

Lunch on board.

Arrival at Punta Arenas and your accommodation at 8:00 pm.

Day 2: Punta Arenas – San Isidro Lighthouse (B, L, D)

8:00am: Pick up from the hotel, transport to Cape San Isidro.

We sail across the Strait of Magellan (the strait that separates the mainland from the mythical Tierra del Fuego island), where we may possibly see southern dolphins.

Arrival at Lodge Faro San Isidro. Lunch.

Excursion to Eagle Bay (where the whaling company operated between 1905-1907), San Isidro Lighthouse and its surroundings, with an optional short kayak trip (maximum 2 hours) around the lodge, observing the coastal fauna.

++Optional trekking to Monte Tarn, which was climbed by Charles Darwin in 1834.

Dinner and accommodation: Lodge Faro San Isidro.

Day 6: Punta Arenas –Torres del Paine National Park (Visiting the penguin colonies at Seno Otway) (6 – 7 hours) (B, L, D)

Departure at 9:00am. During the trip we will visit the penguin colonies at Seno Otway, where you will be able to meet one of the colonies of Magellanic penguins in the region. We will then continue the journey across the Magellanic plains towards the coastal city of Puerto Natales, where you will be able to enjoy your lunch and afterwards we will continue until we arrive at Torres del Paine National Park.

Accommodation: Hotel Las Torres.

Day 7: Full Day Torres del Paine (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we commence the journey by travelling along the main road of the national park, visiting main places of interest such as “Mirador Nordenskjöld”, Salto Grande (a waterfall that links Lake Nordenskjöld with Lake Pehoe), the park’s administrative office, and Lake Grey where it is possible to view the famous Glacier Grey from a distance. The return is made by the same road, finishing at the sector of “Laguna Azul”.

For the more enthusiastic there is the possibility of combining these stops with medium intensity treks, for example:
+ Trekking to “Mirador Los Cuernos” which is located in the sector of Salto Grande (2 hours).
+ Trekking to “Mirador Cóndor” (1,5 hours), in the heart of the main road with an unbeatable view of Macizo Paine.
+ Trekking along the peninsula of Lake Grey (1,5 hours), which starts on the beach of Lake Grey.
Accommodation: Hotel Las Torres.

Day 8: Torres del Paine National Park – El Calafate / Argentina (5 hours) (B, L).

Departure: 9:00am heading towards the border of Argentina, located in Villa Cerro Castillo (1 hour), and afterwards continuing onto El Calafate, where we will check in to our hotel, have lunch, and in the afternoon visit Perito Moreno Glacier.
Dinner not included.
Accommodation: El Calafate.

Day 9: Sailing around Upsala and Spegazzini Glaciers (B, L)

9:00am: Boarding at La Soledad’s Private Port, sailing until the barrier of icebergs at Canal Upsala, viewing Glaciar Spegazzini and disembarking to visit “Puesto de las Vacas”. Afterwards we sail back along the same route to the port.
Disembarkation at 18:00pm.
Dinner not included.
Accommodation: El Calafate.

Day 10: Transport to El Calafate airport (B)
